Honestly, John, why did we even have a presidential primary this year?

Neither Presidential candidate had to campaign to convince voters this election season because the primary process was reconfigured¹ to eliminate the threat of serious competition. And now we’re facing a matchup no one wanted to see in what experts say will be the most expensive election in history. 

Does this make sense to you? It doesn’t to us either.
