Dear A.,

Last night’s congressional primary elections were a resounding success for the pro-Israel community.

AIPAC-backed candidates have advanced to the general election in every district where we had an endorsee, with just three races left to be called.

All 32 AIPAC-backed Democrats competing last night won their primary race. These Democrats are strong pro-Israel voices who are also leaders in the Black, Hispanic, Asian American Pacific Islander, and Progressive Caucuses.

47 AIPAC-backed Republicans won their election, and three more candidates are leading in their races that have yet to be called.

Together, we are demonstrating that being pro-Israel is good policy and good politics. This message is even more essential in the aftermath of October 7 and amid Israel’s war to destroy Hamas and free the hostages.

Support for Israel became a key issue in several races. In California, it was raised at the debates for the hotly contested Senate race in California where AIPAC-endorsed Congressman Adam Schiff won convincingly against Reps. Katie Porter and Barbara Lee.

Schiff was the strongest pro-Israel candidate and has stood steadfast with the Jewish state throughout this war, while his two Democratic opponents have been calling for a ceasefire and increased pressure on Israel. His decisive victory in California is a powerful message that voters want principled, pro-Israel leaders.

AIPAC members strongly supported Schiff’s campaign and United Democracy Project, the AIPAC-backed super PAC, also made a significant expenditure in the race to help him win.

In Texas, Congresswoman Lizzie Fletcher was challenged by an anti-Israel opponent who made the U.S.-Israel relationship the central focus of his campaign to defeat her. Faced with this stark choice, voters in Houston made it clear message that they support pro-Israel Congresswoman Lizzie Fletcher – helping her defeat her opponent by 47 points, with great support from the AIPAC community.

Across the country, Americans overwhelmingly chose candidates who support a strong U.S.-Israel relationship, reflecting the pro-Israel views and values of the electorate. Many of the races were primary-determinative, meaning the winners will not face a difficult general election given the partisan makeup of the district.

Last night was an important step in our quest to elect an even more pro-Israel Congress, but we have a long way to go. Over the coming weeks and months, we will need your continued support of pro-Israel candidates to ensure our friends can win and our detractors are defeated.

I want to thank you for helping make last night’s wins possible, and for all you do for AIPAC and the U.S.-Israel relationship.

Sincerely,
Michael Tuchin

AIPAC President
