John, I won!

Thanks to generous supporters like you, my campaign won our election last night, and I will be the first Muslim woman ever re-elected in North Carolina. And not only that, I got the second most votes out of all candidates running for County Commissioner!

Throughout this campaign, I’ve been proud to support a slate of bold unapologetic progressive candidates for the Board of County Commissioners: Michelle Burton, Wendy Jacobs, and Mike Lee.

I am thrilled that ALL FOUR of us have won seats on the Durham Board of County Commissioners!

But this is only round one: We still have another election in November to elect progressive Democrats up-and-down the ballot across North Carolina.
