Friend --
It’s the French Laundry all over again. We’ve caught Newsom in a
HUGE corruption scandal dubbed “PaneraGate.”
Newsom exempted
Panera Bread from his new $20/hour minimum wage hike for fast food
restaurants. It just so happens that a main Panera Bread owner gave
Newsom over $160,000 in campaign contributions. They also went to high
school together.
Campaign contributions should not buy you carve-outs in
legislation. That’s corrupt, illegal, and UNACCEPTABLE. We can’t let
Newsom get away with this corrupt crony capitalism and we’re fighting
back.
As Democrats raced to amend Newsom’s new corrupt law, I argued on
the Senate Floor that we should scrap it altogether. Of course,
Democrats rejected my motion—their compliance with the governor’s
corruption is deeply concerning.
You can watch my Senate Floor speech here.
We also sent
a letter to Attorney General Bonta calling on him to investigate
PaneraGate. Bonta confirmed he received our letter, but as
expected, he’s
silent on the matter. Given his close relationship with Newsom,
I’m not surprised he’s using his power to shield the governor’s
corruption.

As your Senate Republican Leader, I’m bringing you weekly updates
from Sacramento to EXPOSE the Democrat majority. If you know anyone
who has had enough of failed policies, corrupt politicians, and broken
promises, encourage them to sign
up for my email updates. Together, let's amplify the truth about
what's really going on in our state Capitol.
Help
us expose Newsom and hold him accountable for his corruption by
chipping in just $7.
Thank you,
Brian W. Jones
