Black-led nonprofits — mostly based in Southern states — need help understanding and navigating the process of incorporating as a 501(c)(3) organization. This is a remote opportunity, and lawyers may be barred in any state.

Culinary Hospitality Outreach and Wellness
CHOW, which works to support the mental wellness of individuals in the hospitality industry, wants to expand to other states in order to help save lives. Provide guidance on what they need to do to expand effectively outside Colorado. This is a remote opportunity, and lawyers may be barred in any state. Mentorship and supervision are provided.

Provide Grassroots Organization with Advice Regarding a Small Land Purchase
Simwatachela Sustainable Agricultural and Arts Program [SSAAP]
SSAAP is seeking to purchase a small piece of land for a project and need legal advice from an expert before doing so. They would like someone to review the purchase agreement, and to work with the seller on the quick deed and title search. Lawyers may have any bar license, but no training or supervision are provided.

Assist Afghan Asylees in Green Card Applications
Human Rights First
Human Rights First has helped tens of thousands of individuals who came to the United States fleeing persecution, torture, and threats of death. They need lawyers to help Afghan refugees finish their path to permanent residency in the US. This is a short term commitment to help a client file for their green card. Once the green card is filed, no further representation is needed. Lawyers may have any bar license and mentoring is provided.
