John,
March is a very special month. Spring begins, March Madness gets underway, and for 31 days we reflect on the impacts – too many forgotten – that women have had on our lives and the success of this country.
But until now, I’ve never considered how this campaign is a part of women’s history. We have a real shot at electing the first woman to represent MI-10.
Chip in $7 today to help make our own history in this district, and get someone in office who will protect and restore our rights from extremist attacks.
It’s not that long ago that women simply working was considered radical, but my mom was a pioneer. She went back to school in her 40’s earning degrees from both Oakland Community College and Oakland University and worked as a secretary for some of the largest companies in the Detroit area.
I remember seeing my mom stressfully doing bills on Saturday mornings to ensure I’d have a happy childhood. She and my father taught me to work hard and never back down when things get tough. They shaped me into who I am today.
And that person built a small business from a folding table and a phone book to one of the largest woman-owned financial planning firms in Michigan that has helped thousands of hard-working families build their American Dream.
Now, after watching extremism take hold in some of our elected officials like John James, and seeing the endless attacks on our rights like reproductive freedom – in Michigan and across the country – I decided that it was time to help families and protect the American Dream in another arena.
In the almost two years since Roe v. Wade was overturned by the Supreme Court, and it’s clearer than ever that we need people in office who actually reflect where we stand. We need more women in government, period, and that's a big reason why I'm running.
Here in MI-10, we have a shot at ousting an anti-choice extremist who’s fawned over a sexual predator and elected the most anti-reproductive rights Speaker in history, and he’s done nothing to suggest he’ll fight to restore any rights as long as he’s in office.
Together, we can restore our rights and make another piece of women’s history. But I need your support. Please chip in $7 today to help elect the first woman to represent our district.
