Tell the Senate: protect EVERY American’s right to vote by passing the John R. Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act >>
John, are you ready to put a stop to the far-right’s assault on our freedom to vote?
Anti-democracy extremists have committed to an all-out attack on voters’ rights – with strict voter ID, rollbacks of mail-in voting, and even purges of eligible voters from the voter rolls.
Why? When the Supreme Court gutted the Voting Rights Act (VRA) in 2013, it gave these hyper-partisan politicians a green light to pass unjust, racist, anti-voter bills through state legislatures.
The recently reintroduced John R. Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act would help protect voters nationwide from discrimination and voting restrictions. Tell the Senate to take action and pass this crucial legislation >>
We’ve been fighting a renewed wave of anti-voter efforts – with countless bills proposed at the state level to shut down access to the ballot box and undermine our democracy.
The John R. Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act would overcome these anti-voter measures by restoring and strengthening the VRA’s preclearance requirements for new voting laws. States and localities with histories of discrimination would need federal approval to pass changes to their voting laws.
EVERY voter should be able to cast their ballot on Election Day – free from obstruction or intimidation. Passing this bill would be a major step towards creating the democracy we deserve.
We can’t let vicious, partisan attempts stop voters from participating in our democracy. If you believe in fair and free elections, please add your name today.
Congressman John Lewis dedicated his life to fighting inequality wherever he saw it. I hope you’ll join me in honoring his legacy and urging Congress to pass this essential voting rights bill.
Thanks for all you do,
