Here’s the latest from Gaza:
Intensified conflict has reached Rafah, one of the most densely populated areas in the world. 1.4 million people sheltering there are at risk.
The city has exploded with tent settlements as Gazans have evacuated to Rafah for safety, but now, even this last refuge is in jeopardy.
Among those most vulnerable are tens of thousands of pregnant women, new mothers, and newborns, many of whom have been forcibly displaced multiple times. Pregnant women are especially at risk of premature birth, stillbirth, miscarriage, pregnancy complications, and maternal death.
Since day one of this emergency, UNFPA’s teams have been delivering as much aid as possible and reaching women and girls with essential sexual and reproductive health care — thanks to emergency donations from supporters like you.
“But conflict in Rafah will make it even harder to meet the needs of a starving and suffering population. Continued attacks mean women and girls surviving this crisis will urgently need even more aid.
Will you make an emergency gift today and ensure women and girls in Rafah and surviving crises around the world have the care they need, no matter what?
The suffering must end. We condemn the violence in Gaza, the West Bank, and Israel, including all sexual violence, and echo the UN Secretary-General’s call for a sustained humanitarian ceasefire and the immediate and unconditional release of all hostages by Hamas.
Thank you for being there.
