BREAKING: With Haley out of the race, Trump is now the presumptive nominee. Let's show we're ready to defeat him.

Indivisibles,

Moments ago, Nikki Haley suspended her campaign. The Republican primary is effectively over and the general election contest between Joe Biden and the twice-impeached, felony-indicted, jury-found sexual abuser Donald Trump has begun.

Polling shows a lot of Americans did not believe this day would come.[1] Perhaps it’s all the criminal charges, the efforts to keep him off the ballot, or the reasonable expectation that a guy who tried to overthrow our government wouldn’t be given another chance to lead it -- but until now, there hasn’t been a singular moment when the near certainty of Trump being the Republican nominee became real for the majority of Americans.

Well, it’s real now, folks. Trump will be the Republican nominee. And equally real: He could win a second term defined by vengeance, autocracy, and unimaginable cruelty to the most vulnerable members of our society.

And despite that very dark possibility, we’re hopeful. Why? Because we also have a very real chance to defeat Trump, make MAGA irrelevant, and win a Democratic trifecta that can restore reproductive freedoms and help deliver on the promise of a multiracial democracy that works for all of us.

Which reality we wake up to on November 6 will be determined in large part by the work we do from now until Election Day.  So today, we’re asking you to make your commitment to defeating Trump real by chipping in, if you can, to fuel the grassroots organizing it’ll take to do it.

And if you are not in a position to give, you can also commit to volunteering for election work here

The Indivisible movement wasn’t around when Trump won in 2016, but we’re here now -- and we have a record of wiping the floor with MAGA in every election since. We flipped the House in 2018. We beat Trump already in 2020. And then in 2022 we had a historic midterm that evaporated the predicted red wave. How did we start off 2024? By defeating MAGA in New York’s Third District.

This election will be unique in all of American history, but the keys to victory in those elections remain the same here: We’re going to shine a spotlight on MAGA extremism (democracy, IVF, abortion, book-bans), expose the very real impacts it has on people’s lives, and paint a stark contrast between the horror show MAGA threatens and the better future a Democratic trifecta will deliver.

And Indivisible is particularly suited to deliver that message at a time when the public is distrustful of political leaders and national media. We’re doing some of the most innovative person-to-person organizing out there, getting out our message with personal conversations, deep canvassing, and our groundbreaking Neighbor2Neighbor program (2x more effective than traditional canvassing)!

A final bit of real talk: To pull off our plans and win in 2024 (you can read the full strategy here), we need to muster the same energy that fueled our victory in 2020. And that includes when it comes to fundraising. In 2023, we had to scale back our plans because -- like so many in the progressive space -- we fell short of our fundraising goals. With all that’s at stake this year, we can’t let that happen again.

So if you’re in a position to give, make a recurring donation, or increase your recurring donation, let Trump’s presumptive nomination be your inspiration. He’s effectively won the Republican primary, but together, we can ensure it’s the last win of his political career.
