Today, I listened to the Chancellor deliver his pre-election Budget to a packed and febrile House of Commons.

It was the last time I will do this as a sitting MP and I fervently hoped that he would take the action we need to combat the escalating climate, nature and inequality crises.

Fourteen years of Conservative Government have left a terrible legacy.

Here was an opportunity to support millions of people - by lowering bills and creating thousands of good jobs, whilst also reducing climate emissions.

Sadly, short term political expediency won the day - again – further delaying the Green transition this country so desperately needs.

John, the case for the next generation of Green MPs has never been stronger.

A spring general election is still a distinct possibility and we must get behind our four target candidates now, so Sian, Carla, Ellie and Adrian are elected to parliament.

Whichever party forms the next government will face a huge challenge to secure a liveable future.

But the Conservatives have turned their back on tackling the Climate Emergency, whilst Labour is hiding behind arbitrary fiscal rules and running scared.

Only Greens will make the case for the investment needed to transform our society and cut carbon emissions, revitalise our decimated public services, and introduce a wealth tax to curb the staggering and obscene inequality all around us.

That’s why we need to get four new powerful and principled Green MPs elected to stand up for what matters in parliament.

The clock is ticking. It’s time to invest now for the brighter future we all know is possible with the right political choices.
