Once again, Donald Trump is poised to be the Republican nominee for President. This is the man who said he’s PROUD of his role in overturning Roe v. Wade and stripping fundamental bodily autonomy from millions of Americans. Trump and other right-wing politicians — like Emily’s two Republican opponents in Washington’s 6th District — need to get one thing straight: The people of Washington want leaders who will protect our rights, not take more of them away. Most of us believe that we, not politicians or judges, should decide when and how we start or expand our families. But like Trump, our Republican opponents think they should make those decisions for us. We’ve seen the deadly consequences of this belief in action: Doctors refusing to treat women with dangerous pregnancies, people traveling hundreds of miles for reproductive care, and medical professionals leaving the field entirely because the new laws have made their jobs impossible. As 2022 showed, when voters understand what’s at stake, they turn out for the candidate who will defend their freedom and bodily autonomy. And if we raise enough grassroots funds, we can reach voters in every corner of the 6th District and communicate the stark contrast in this race. Let’s respond to Trump’s victory with a grassroots wave of support to elect a pro-choice Democratic majority and kick anti-abortion extremists to the curb — chip in to fuel our campaign → — Team Emily
