BREAKING: Sinema will not run for reelection. Which means... GOOD THINGS.

Indivisibles,

Rejoice! Kyrsten Sinema just announced she won’t run for reelection.

This is great news for two big reasons:

FIRST, Sinema is an egomaniac who spent every day of her Senate career betraying the voters and activists who got her elected and delivering instead for corporate lobbyists and billionaires. She and Joe Manchin are why abortion rights aren’t codified for every American. They’re why we weren’t able to restore the Voting Rights Act and pass transformative democracy protections.

Remember her dramatic thumbs-down vote on raising the minimum wage? Kyrsten Sinema is why we can’t (currently) have nice things.

SECOND, Sinema’s retirement opens the door to get all that done in 2025. With Sinema retiring, we CAN have nice things. If she’d run for reelection as an independent, she had no chance of winning -- but she could have played spoiler and handed the election to MAGA extremist Kari Lake, virtually ensuring Republican control of the Senate.

But now, Indivisible endorsee Ruben Gallego is a slight favorite in Arizona’s Senate race, and his win could mean we have a real Democratic Senate majority next year. And when we say a real majority, we mean a majority where Sinema and Manchin won’t stand in the way of progressive policies -- one where we can get rid of the filibuster and get big things (reproductive freedom, voting rights, gun safety, and MORE) done.

Indivisible is all-in on winning in Arizona so we can make that beautiful future happen. We’re investing heavily in on-the-ground organizing, and there’s SO much more we can do between now and Election Day. But we need your help.

So if you’re pumped up to replace Mitch McConnell’s/private equity’s/Pharma’s favorite senator with a real Democrat who will allow us to pass transformative progressive policies, PLEASE chip in support this work  >>

This is a day for celebration, so we’re not going to harsh anyone’s vibe by talking about what a nightmare candidate Kari Lake is. We’ll have plenty of time for that.

Instead, we’re asking you to imagine a future without Sinema, without a filibuster, and the amazing things we’ll be able to get done together.

There’s only one way we get there in 2025 -- and that’s making sure Sinema’s seat goes to Ruben Gallego.

It won’t be easy. But if anyone can get it done, it’s this movement. So if you have a few bucks to spare, keep what you need to buy a drink, some confetti, whatever you need to celebrate, and then chip in to help us turn Sinema’s seat BLUE (for real) in November.

In solidarity,
