Dear Friends,
It’s been a little over six weeks since my new book was released and it’s been really well-received. It’s been ranked #1 in various categories on Amazon multiple times and I’ve had lots of invitations from large groups to discuss the book’s main messages. I’m writing to seek your assistance. While I would of course appreciate it if you could buy (another) copy, I’m really love your help with the following:
1. Recommend The Making of a Generalist as a topic for a virtual or in-person book event at any professional association, social club, or teacher/parent group that you think might enjoy a conversation with me about the book’s main ideas. I’m actively seeking to diversify the groups that are aware of the book and would welcome your help!
2. Rate and review The Making of a Generalist on Amazon. This is something that is apparently more important than I realized as it affects Amazon’s recommendation algorithms and their willingness to suggest my book to likely buyers. Time is of the essence so I’d welcome
3. Post a picture of you holding the book on social media. If you mention me (@mansharamani on twitter), I’ll be able to repost or share your post with my network. All of my social links are available at linktr.ee/mansharamani.
Please reach out to me directly at

Best,

** The Making of a Generalist: The Backstory
------------------------------------------------------------
After my unsuccessful campaign for the US Senate in 2022, I spent time reflecting on my life experiences and lessons learned. Writing (when not skiing or hiking at Loon Mountain) became my “therapy” and helped me better understand my first 50 years on this planet. The book is a deeply personal reflection on failures, challenges, and successes along the path to who I am today.
The book also takes lessons acquired from my entry into politics and puts them into the context of my prior work. My first book, Boombustology ([link removed]) , suggested the use of multiple lenses offered a path to unique insights when it came to spotting financial bubbles. My next book, Think for Yourself ([link removed]) , suggested every perspective was limited, biased, and incomplete and the best way to navigate uncertainty was to triangulate multiple views. When I entered the world of politics, however, I found most people were quick to label folks on a single dimension of Right to Left. The Making of a Generalist suggests we could all be better off by adding dimensions to our political discourse: what about open-minded versus closed-minded? or process-oriented versus outcome-oriented? I’m calling for more civil civic engagement.
