A Failure of Leadership

For months, Trump received briefings about the potential threat our country faced with the coronavirus that was spreading throughout the world. And for months, those warnings went unheeded.

Now, as our nation faces an unprecedented health crisis, the Trump administration has failed to respond in a manner that would mitigate the worst of this pandemic. Worse yet, his Republican enablers continue propping up his efforts as though he's doing all he can and heaping undeserved praise on this administration.

This crisis has provided perhaps the clearest evidence yet that Trump and his enablers are unfit for leadership and must be sent packing when voters head to the polls this November.

Since the coronavirus pandemic is at the forefront of everyone’s mind, People For the American Way is especially grateful to have been able to host a member telebriefing with the senator The Nation proclaimed to be its choice for “coronavirus czar” herself, Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren

Less than 24 hours after working with her colleagues to pass the historic $2 trillion coronavirus relief package, Sen. Warren joined PFAW members for a discussion of the legislation, Trump and Republican's failures throughout this process, and what we can expect to see from Congress going forward.

Since its passage a decade ago, Republicans have been unrelenting in their attempts to repeal or undermine the Affordable Care Act. At the same time, Republicans have turned to confirming numerous anti-ACA judges to the federal bench, with the goal of undermining the law through litigation.

In order to hold Republicans accountable for their ongoing attempts to undermine this landmark health care law, PFAW has launched an ad highlighting the votes Republican Senators have taken to confirm Far Right judicial nominees that are hostile to the ACA and to health care for all Americans. Our first ad exposes Sen. Joni Ernst (R-IA) for the votes she has taken to confirm many of these nominees.
