North Carolina becoming 2024 battleground for Democrats vying to reclaim swing state Trump won in 2020

John, even Fox News admits it! North Carolina is a must-win battleground state this year. And the polls there close at 7:30 p.m. TONIGHT for the primary elections.
In 2020, Donald Trump won the state by his slimmest margin of any state in the country – 1.4%. That’s less than half of the margin Trump won North Carolina by in 2016. And heading into Super Tuesday TODAY polls show Biden and Trump locked in a dead heat race.
But Republicans know just how crucial winning North Carolina is and they’ll do anything to ensure it moves from “purple” to “red” this November. They’re setting their sights on installing an ultra-conservative into the governor’s office and today’s primary is the first step to making it happen.
John, after today’s primary we could see the GOP frontrunner for governor – a dangerous Trump endorsed extremist and conspiracy theorist who’s outlined a destructive agenda that would set North Carolina back decades – becoming the party’s nominee. If elected he’s promised to pass a total abortion ban to make sure women “can’t get an abortion in North Carolina for any reason,” – no exceptions. And he has a long record of homophobia, sexism, transphobia, and antisemitism.
These extreme views are wrong for North Carolina, but Democrats are facing an uphill battle to turn the state blue and maintain control of the governor’s office.
Republicans know that winning North Carolina is their best shot at weakening our blue firewall and securing the electoral votes they need to send Trump back to the White House! And they’re already pouring in millions into the state to do it.
