STARVATION IN GAZA

John, please rush your urgent donation for children and families in Gaza and others affected by crisis around the world >>

"I'm deeply saddened and disturbed that I was extremely useful as a pediatrician in a war zone." - Dr. Seema Jilani, IRC Senior Health Advisor and pediatrician, who recently returned from Gaza

A weeping family amongst rubble in Gaza

The situation in Gaza right now is terrifyingly bleak. Families have been ripped apart and their homes are in ruins. Children have been injured, orphaned, and traumatized -- and now, there are reports that children are dying of starvation.

John, we wanted you, a compassionate supporter of our critical work, to know that the International Rescue Committee (IRC) is working with partners to deliver food, lifesaving medical aid, direct cash assistance, and support to people enduring catastrophic suffering in Gaza.

Here is the latest information on our emergency response:

→ In Gaza, the IRC and Medical Aid for Palestinians (MAP) have been deploying Emergency Medical Teams to provide emergency and life-saving medical care. (Dr. Seema Jilani, who we quoted above, was part of an Emergency Medical Team who deployed to Gaza in recent months.)

→ IRC and MAP teams -- composed of trauma doctors, surgeons, pediatricians, and water and sanitation experts -- offer relief support to hospitals and provide life-saving care to Palestinians.

→ The IRC has procured or released 47 metric tons of pharmaceuticals and medical supplies.

→ The IRC is also supporting partners to deliver food and provide critical services in emergency shelters including health services, cash assistance, mental health/psychological support and other support for children and caregivers.

John, with people's survival hanging in the balance, will you donate to help children and families in Gaza and in other crises around the world today?
