BREAKING: We have new information for you about the recent Alabama Supreme Court ruling that qualifies frozen embryos as children, paving the way for the state to BAN in-vitro fertilization (IVF) treatment in Alabama.

Fact: Vote Mama Foundation research shows that the Alabama legislature has ZERO moms with children who are minors. This is why it's time to change who is at the table.

Here are the updates you need to know so you can take action:

→ Last week, the Alabama legislature failed to pass a bill that mitigates the serious legal risks for those providing, or to the mothers receiving, IVF treatment.

→ The watered down bill left too many question marks for providers. As a result, many clinics have fully halted treatment.

→ In the US Senate last Tuesday, Vote Mama alumna Sen. Tammy Duckworth (one of just three moms of minors in the Senate) introduced a bill to enact federal IVF protections.

→ Then, Republicans in the Senate blocked the bill to protect IVF, which was even condemned by ultra-conservative Republicans including Donald Trump.

This silences any doubts that the Republican Party has been taken over by Christian nationalists. There is only one upside to this reality: attacks on reproductive rights have gone too far even for conservatives.

Right now, we have a critical window of opportunity to reach independent and moderate Republican voters, many of whom think the GOP has gone too far. We MUST strike while the iron is hot.

For radical anti-choice extremists, this has never been about protecting lives — it has always been about controlling women’s bodies. It is unacceptable that the GOP has been allowed to twist words like “freedom” and “family” to attack our most fundamental rights. Our Vote Mama candidates and alumnae are ready to take back the narrative of what it means to be pro-family.

But our pro-choice Democratic mamas are at risk of being spread thin by all of these attacks on reproductive freedom. And if we’re going to get them elected so they can continue fighting for us, we NEED to build a strong united coalition to rally behind them — and that “we” includes you, John.
