Hi all!

Greetings from Austin, where my Hechinger Report colleagues and I are attending SXSW EDU. The Lone Star State was also the setting for one of our newest stories ([link removed]) , about how private school vouchers are dividing Republicans here.

In addition, we are following a heated discussion ([link removed]) over what kind of math high schoolers need. Please read and share these stories and tell us what you think.

As you know, we are also in mourning for our Hechinger Report colleague Fazil Khan ([link removed]) , who died tragically in a fire last month. To honor his legacy, we’ve established a fund ([link removed])  to support an internship for a student who wants to follow in Fazil’s footsteps as a data journalist.
