Hi John,

Already this year, we've seen a ton of momentum around the PROVE IT Act,
a bipartisan bill introduced in the Senate. In January, it passed out of
committee after a wave of phone calls from CCLers 🏄 We're hopeful that
a House companion bill will be introduced soon, too, if we can keep this
momentum going!

Ask your members of Congress to cosponsor the PROVE IT Act 📝

Image: As a reminder, the PROVE IT Act would require the Department of Energy
to collect data on the carbon intensity of a specific set of goods
manufactured in the U.S. It's another stepping stone in existing,
bipartisan efforts to tackle international emissions.

Knowing our own carbon output data will help us negotiate effectively
and accurately as our trade partners set up their own CBAM systems. This
helps protect U.S. industries from higher-polluting foreign competition

Trade is a powerful tool to reduce emissions, but we can't participate
effectively if we aren't prepared. Take a minute to tell your members of
Congress

you need them to support the PROVE IT Act.
