There is an ad hoc grassroots efforts to organize collection of available masks around the area so that our health care providers can stay protected as they start to see more Covid-19 cases. Twin Ports Mask Brigade is asking for donations of both N95 and dust masks, so check your basements and garages for whatever you might have and can spare. I'll paste their email below.
Twin Ports Mask Brigade, a grassroots volunteer group, collects and distributes masks to healthcare workers in the Duluth-Superior area to aid in PPE shortages during the COVID-19 pandemic. Our healthcare workers are on the front-line and working during unprecedented masks and PPE shortages, they need assistance NOW. We are stepping in to protect these vital members of our community.
We are a small group of Duluth-Superior volunteers coordinating to collect unused masks and supply them directly to local healthcare providers. We are urging anyone who has un-used dust, surgical or N95 masks to donate them to front-line workers now. You may have purchased masks like these for painting projects, drywall construction, to block fumes from paints, or in case of an emergency. Please check your closets, basements, and garages.
Whether it's one mask or one hundred masks, if you have ANY unused masks please fill out the Mask Donation form on our website and we will send a volunteer to make a pick-up as soon as possible.
In addition we are asking everyone to please share our website and social media with your friends, family and co-workers. We need help getting the word out!
