This election, everything is on the line, yet
again. Reproductive rights, climate change, gun safety, and so much more. We all have a role to play, so make sure you have a plan to VOTE.
This year’s primary election will take place today on Super Tuesday—that's today!
In California, ALL active registered voters receive vote-by-mail ballots (absentee ballots) and can choose to drop off their ballot or vote in person.
Sacramento County, you can vote at any Vote Center in the county; find a convenient location here.
If you’re not registered to vote, it’s not too late! California allows for same-day registration.

For the rest of California, if you are dropping off your absentee ballot, you have two options:
- Leave it at a drop box any time on Election Day. You can track your ballot here and you can find a drop box here.
- Bring it to any polling place in the state before 8:00 p.m. on Election Day.
If you are voting in person, make sure to make a plan for when and how you will get to your polling place/vote center, polls will be open until 8:00 p.m.
What to bring to vote?
If you choose to vote in person and you've voted in California before, you don't need to show ID when you vote.
If you're a first time voter in a federal election who registered by mail, and didn't include your driver's license number, California ID number, or the last 4 digits of your Social Security number on your registration, you may be asked to provide ID when you vote.
You will need to provide this information if you are doing Same-Day Registration.
This is the most crucial primary ahead of the presidential election in November. Voting is an essential part of our democracy – let’s get this done!
