One heck of a credible source
Over a decade ago, Poynter faculty Tony Elkins ([link removed]) enrolled in a Poynter program that changed the course of his career.
“I was a different leader pre-Poynter than post-Poynter,” Elkins said. “The skills I learned really opened my eyes to how I could be a better manager and a better journalist.”
Now, he’s a faculty member at the institute, teaching similar skills that he learned in that leadership session years ago to new and rising newsroom managers.
You can read more in this recent Q&A with Elkins ([link removed]) that focuses on his professional journey, and why he thinks this teaching is still critical.
