With Donald Trump barreling towards the Republican nomination and 16 more states voting in today’s Super Tuesday elections, we need to talk about the state of the race:
Look, we already know a second Trump term would be disastrous for our country in so many ways.
He’s a threat to democracy, having already attempted to overthrow the government Virginians voted for once and promising to act as a dictator on Day One should he win.
He’s a threat to reproductive freedom, supporting a national abortion ban that would control women in all 50 states.
He’s a threat to our strong economy that’s thriving under President Biden’s leadership, promising tax giveaways to wealthy corporations that ought to be paying their fair share — at the expense of the middle class.
He’s a threat to our kids, saying he wants to defund public schools because he simply refuses to believe in basic science, like the importance of vaccinating children against polio.
He’s a threat to our planet’s future, with plans to roll back the progress we’ve made on building a clean energy economy, diminish the EPA, and ignore scientists’ warnings about climate change.
And he’s determined to flip Virginia to secure his path to the White House.
He’s promised to “make a heavy play” for Virginia, and with GOP mega-donors backing him and super PACs that are flush with cash, we know he’ll make good on that promise.
Plus, there are nine Republicans vying to defeat Tim Kaine and take their extreme GOP agenda to the U.S. Senate.
