Tomorrow is Election Day, and before the polls close, I wanted to take the opportunity to share my gratitude and vision for our community with you.
My life’s journey is a quintessential California story: one of sacrifice, hard work, and a steadfast dedication to my community.
Raised by my Vietnamese refugee father and Mexican immigrant mother, I learned early on the importance of perseverance and advocacy. As the first in my family to graduate high school and college, I have always believed in the power of education and its opportunity to transform lives.
At the age of 25, I made history as the youngest person ever elected to the Garden Grove City Council. Since then, I’ve been unwavering in my commitment to serving our neighborhoods, championing economic development, improving infrastructure, and advocating for those who are often overlooked.
I’ve championed reproductive justice, fought for immigrant dignity, and worked tirelessly to address the critical issues facing Southern California. In Congress, I will bring this same dedication and passion to restoring integrity and accountability to Washington.
Together, we can lower medical and prescription drug costs, increase housing affordability, and invest in job training to raise wages.
Together, we can ensure that working families have the opportunities they deserve to thrive.
As a longtime resident of this district, I am committed to representing our shared values and priorities in Congress. Your vote tomorrow is an opportunity to shape the future of our community and our country, and I hope I can count on your support.
Together, let's build a brighter, more inclusive future for all.
With heartfelt gratitude,
Kim Nguyen-Penaloza
