Hi,

Last Wednesday, the U.S. Supreme Court announced that it will take up
Donald Trump's claim of total presidential immunity from criminal
prosecution for his role in the January 6 insurrection.^1

And despite the fact that Ginny Thomas, the wife of Clarence Thomas,
personally participated in the events of that day, Justice Thomas STILL
refuses to recuse himself from the case.^2

Justice Thomas has accepted millions of dollars' worth of gifts, luxury
vacations, and sweetheart real estate deals from right-wing donors.^3 And
now he's refusing to recuse in a case involving his wife that could place
the former president of the United States above the law.

Enough is enough. Clarence Thomas is among the most corrupt Supreme Court
justices we've ever seen. He must be impeached and removed from the bench.

The Supreme Court shouldn't be taking up Donald Trump's claim of
presidential immunity in the first place. It's an utterly baseless legal
claim that has been shot down by two lower courts, including judges
appointed by both Democratic and Republican presidents.^4

As Trump's own lawyer admitted, if they win this claim, any president
could order the Navy Seals to assassinate his political rivals — including
even the Supreme Court justices themselves — and be entirely immune from
criminal prosecution.^5

It's laughable — except for the fact that at least four justices of the
Supreme Court thought the claim had enough merit to actually take up
Trump's appeal. And you can guess who was among those who voted to hear
the case.

What's worse is that by merely agreeing to hear this appeal, the Supreme
Court has likely delayed the criminal trial in D.C. long enough to prevent
it from going to trial before the November election.^6

Clarence Thomas has spent decades on the court enriching himself by doing
the bidding of right-wing megadonors. Now he's sitting in judgment of a
case that directly involves his wife. It's simply too dangerous to allow
him to continue to serve on the highest court in the land. Clarence Thomas
must be impeached.
