Last week, Rob continued his fight for tenants’ rights by announcing a
settlement with two Bakersfield landlords and a property management
company for violating the Tenant Protection Act (TPA) and the Fair
Employment and Housing Act.
These landlords and property manager issued unlawful eviction notices and
discriminated against Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher recipients, while
one landlord illegally increased rent for dozens of tenants. But they’re
not getting away with it – because of Rob’s actions, they will
collectively pay $213,000 of restitution and penalties.
This is just the latest example of our AG’s commitment to protecting
consumers and ensuring that all Californians have a place to call home:
Rob also enforced tenant protection laws against a large housing developer
last June, and a property manager and a large landlord with statewide
rental operations just last month.

it clear that the law must be followed by everyone, everywhere in
California. Will you support his work with a grassroots contribution
