The U.S. Supreme Court unanimously ruled that states cannot disqualify federal candidates under Section 3 of the 14th Amendment, putting former President Donald Trump back on Colorado's ballot. But the justices split 5-4 on whether only Congress can enforce the provision.

New Mexico Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham (D) signed a bill banning the open carry of guns near polling places. It is now illegal in New Mexico to openly possess a firearm within 100 feet of a polling place and 50 feet of a drop box.

Arizona House Republicans passed a bill to end no-excuse mail-in voting, which has existed in the state since GOP lawmakers enacted the practice in 1991. Over 75% of Arizonans vote by early mail-in ballot.

A Tennessee judge dismissed a lawsuit challenging a state law that requires voters to be a “bona fide member" of or "declare allegiance" to a political party in order to vote in primaries. The law will remain in effect.
