The Supreme Court's decision today, to punt enforcement of the 14th amendment’s insurrectionist ban from federal office, to Congress means Trump will remain on the ballot and be the Republican nominee for President.
Further, the Court’s decision to entertain the Absolute Presidential Immunity case in April is a slap in the face of justice, potentially delaying Donald Trump's trial on charges of conspiring to overturn the 2020 election until after the November election.
Trump is a direct threat to the very fabric of our democracy.
We're not just fighting a political opponent, we're fighting a clear-cut authoritarian who has shown time and again his disdain for the rule of law and democratic norms. The future of our planet, the rights of our people, and the sanctity of our democracy are hanging by a thread.
Trump must be stopped and now only we can save us.
