Take a minute and think about where you want our country to be a decade from now. Personally, I want to do everything I can to create a fairer, more just, and more equal America.

That starts by protecting our democracy from those who want to weaken it. This is a fight that won’t be won in one election or one court case — it requires a plan to fight back everywhere, every year. That’s why the National Democratic Redistricting Committee has a 10 year plan to win fair maps, and they deserve our support.

The change we know is possible depends on working together to meet this moment, and taking this challenge head on. So I’m asking:

Will you join me in supporting the NDRC’s work across the country by making a donation of $30 or more today? [[link removed]]

For the last seven years, the NDRC has done the hard work of standing up to partisan and racial gerrymandering, and fighting for maps that lead to fair representation. Trust me, I know that work too often gets overshadowed by the louder parts of our politics. But it is essential to building a society in which everyone’s voice truly matters.

Our democracy is stronger today because of your work with the NDRC. But our work is far from complete.

Too many voters are still being silenced by gerrymandering. Too many people are being deliberately left out of our democracy thanks to rising attacks on voting rights. And unlike the days when congressional and legislative districts were redrawn once a decade, these fights are now happening every year in every corner of the country. In fact, several maps hang in the balance as I write this.

As Attorney General Holder likes to say, we’re now in an era of perpetual redistricting. For those of us who care deeply about this cause, that means we can’t take our foot off the gas, even for a moment.

The NDRC’s 10 Year Plan will not only protect the fair maps we’ve fought hard to achieve, it will also fight back against cynical, partisan efforts to further undermine our democracy.

I’ve often said that change only happens when ordinary people get involved, get engaged, and come together to demand it. Now is the time to take a stand.

Join me in supporting the NDRC with a donation of $30 or more today. Anything you can give is an investment in a fairer, stronger democracy — and that matters now more than ever. [[link removed]]

We’ve got a lot of work to do. And I’ll be right there with you as we do it.

Thank you,
Barack Obama
