Earlier this month, I hosted eight Members of Congress in our beautiful community to show them firsthand the consequences of Republican inaction on our broken immigration system.
My goal for these visits is a comprehensive view of immigration policy and its impacts. I led them on a tour of the Paso del Norte Bridge (PDN) where we met with Office of Field Operations (OFO) agents. We also joined Border Patrol agents running the Enhanced Holding Facility and met with migrants. Finally, we stopped by Annunciation House to meet with Ruben Garcia and have the Representatives learn about the organization's work.
The only solution to our country's broken immigration system is legislative action by Congress. While I continue to urge Speaker Johnson to bring the senate border bill to the House Floor for a vote, I remain committed in my extensive outreach to gather support for the Dignity Act, my bipartisan, comprehensive immigration reform bill.
