Welcome to our February wrap-up newsletter! It has been a busy month here in Washington, D.C. If you would like to stay updated on what I'm doing each week, I encourage you to check out my Facebook and Twitter! If you need help with a federal agency, such as the VA, IRS, or Social Security, please call my office at the numbers listed below or visit my website so we can get to work on your behalf! | Rep. Barry Moore Member of Congress | Funding Trump's wall and defunding the invasion at our border | This week I voted against H.R.7463, another continuing resolution that prolongs the out-of-control spending levels set by Biden and Pelosi's policies that fuel our 17.9% inflation rate. This legislation provides no funding for President Trump's border wall. In just the last week, there have been countless stories across the country about heinous crimes committed by illegals across the nation. Congress needs to pass legislation that funds the wall and defunds contributions to organizations to send illegals to a city near you. It shouldn't take more tragedies for the border to become our priority. I made a pledge to oppose all government funding until action is taken to secure our southern border, and I will continue to uphold my pledge! | Election integrity is essential | Voting is one of the most important rights our Constitution grants. In recent years, Americans have seen the consequences of fraud and apathy in our elections. Election integrity is essential. Learn more about the upcoming March 5 election at myinfo.alabamavotes.gov. | Send illegal immigrants back to their home countries | Earlier this month, I co-sponsored the Send Them Back Act with Reps. Andy Ogles (R-TN) and Andrew Clyde (R-GA). This bill would make all illegal aliens who have entered the United States since January 20, 2021, eligible for expedited removal. Due to the Biden administration's failing policies, our country has been invaded, and American taxpayers are being forced to pay for almost eight million illegal immigrants. I thank Reps. Ogles and Clyde for initiating this critical measure, which will return every immigrant who has crossed our open border to their home country. | Calling for the immediate release of Nicaraguan pastors | I recently introduced a resolution condemning the unlawful imprisonment of eleven Nicaraguan pastors from Mountain Gateway Ministries who are being imprisoned without access to legal counsel or their families. I thank my colleagues, Reps. Aderholt, Carl, Palmer, Roy, and Sewell, for joining me in condemning these actions. | Advocating for the needs of Alabama's producers | I had the opportunity to question United States Agriculture Secretary Thomas Vilsack in an agriculture committee hearing this past month. Agricultural support and safety net programs are essential for the security of Alabama's agricultural sector, and one of my priorities in Congress is to ensure that the farm bill reflects the needs of producers in lower Alabama. I am committed to advocating for increased reference prices, ensuring programmatic integrity for SNAP and other federal assistance programs, and promoting growth for the wood product industry. | Impeaching Secretary Mayorkas | This month, my colleagues and I were able to successfully pass Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene's (R-GA) resolution to impeach Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas. Secretary Mayorkas' ineffective actions at the border have resulted in nearly 10 million illegals invading our country on the taxpayer's dime, and it was far past time for him to be held accountable. | Opposing the Senate's America last border bill | Earlier this month, the Senate proposed a so-called "border security bill" that works directly against the safety of American families across the nation, and I could only speak out to oppose it. Once again, House Republicans were let down by this proposed legislation, which shuts down the border after 5,000 people per day enter, provides $2.3 billion in taxpayer funds for refugees, increases green cards by 50,000 per year, and provides $60 billion to Ukraine while only providing $20 billion to secure our own border. President Biden doesn't need more money, power, or laws on the books to close our southern border. I will continue to speak out and oppose any legislation that prioritizes the security of foreign countries before our own border. I don't serve the United States of Ukraine; I serve the United States of America. | Protecting women from dangerous abortion drugs | I recently signed an amicus brief urging the Supreme Court to shield women and girls from the dangerous abortion drugs that President Biden's FDA has permitted to be sold in the Food and Drug Administration v. Alliance for Hippocratic Medicine case. The FDA eliminated almost all of the safety regulations that it had previously deemed necessary for women's health and safety in 2016 and 2021. This included the mandate that only medical professionals prescribe these high-risk medications and that they disclose any major side effects that may arise from using them. Due to this, women are now receiving abortion pills via mail instead of through a physical doctor's appointment. The FDA should be held accountable for disregarding its obligation to protect women and girls and should revert to its initial safety standards. | Unleashing American energy | Unleashing American energy is good for our economy, our job market, and our national security, and that is why I voted in favor of H.R. 7176, the Unlocking Our Domestic LNG Potential Act. This legislation is a big win for Americans across the country because it reverses President Biden's de facto ban on liquid natural gas (LNG) exports to allow the United States to export more and encourage domestic energy production. According to the American Petroleum Institute, increasing LNG exports would add $73 billion to our economy and create over 450,000 American jobs, and I am proud to have been able to support this bill! | Learn more about the work I am doing on behalf of the 2nd District in Washington! | Congress should be funding Trump's wall! | House Freedom Caucus press conference on the need for FISA reform | Update on the 11 pastors unlawfully imprisoned in Nicaragua | Learn more about the work I am doing on behalf of the 2nd District in Washington! | Washington, D.C. 1504 Longworth House Office Building Washington, DC 20515 Phone: (202) 225-2901 | Andalusia 505 E 3 Notch St Suite 322 Andalusia, AL 36420 Phone: (334) 428-1129 Fax: (334) 222-3342 | Wetumpka 408 S.
