Because you are a Poynter partner, I wanted you to be among the first to read our new 2023-2024 Impact Report ([link removed]) , highlighting the meaningful achievements we have made to help strengthen a free press and fact-based expression around the globe.
Poynter’s reach in supporting excellence in journalism is wide, and our impact significant, whether it is through our acclaimed training for journalists around the world, or the work we do as the proud home of PolitiFact, MediaWise, the International Fact-Checking Network (IFCN), and the Craig Newmark Center for Ethics and Leadership.
Here are just a few of the highlights you’ll learn in the attached report:
• Poynter has helped 65 newsrooms across the U.S. create new approaches that have transformed harmful crime reporting into public safety journalism that serves their communities.
• Poynter’s Digital Transformation Program helped 79 public media organizations build sustainable digital operations, adding millions to their audience and revenue.
• PolitiFact, Poynter’s fact-checking newsroom, launched PolitiFact en Español, to help more than 40 million Spanish-speaking Americans sort truth from fiction in politics and policy.
• Poynter’s IFCN awarded $1.875 million in grants to 55 different global news organizations through the Global Fact Check Fund, supported by Google and YouTube.
As we speed closer to Poynter’s 50th anniversary year in 2025, our work is more relevant than ever.
