Last week, I joined MSNBC to discuss the Alabama Supreme Court ruling that has virtually ended in vitro fertilization in the state and to discuss my bill to safeguard IVF:
|
Since the Dobbs decision, I knew that Republicans’ position that life begins at conception would mean further restrictions beyond abortion bans, which is why I started working on this bill almost immediately to protect IVF.
This decision in Alabama has already had devastating consequences for women in the state who were undergoing IVF since most clinics and hospitals have now paused IVF altogether.
IVF is widely used by individuals across the country to conceive for a range of reasons, including veterans who have suffered injuries, couples who suffer from infertility, individuals who have undergone chemotherapy, and more.
But this is no different than an abortion ban. It’s not based on science or medical reasoning – it’s all about the government’s ability to control what women do with their bodies.
Now more than ever, we need to elect a pro-choice majority in the House. That starts with protecting vulnerable seats like mine in PA-07.
Will you contribute $10 or $20 to my re-election campaign to keep me in Congress fighting for IVF and protecting reproductive rights for all Americans?
