Dear AFSCME Family,
This Women’s History Month, I’m thinking about the AFSCME women who are building our union.
All month long, we will be shining a light on sisters who are making history as Volunteer Member Organizers (VMOs). Follow along every Friday as we share their stories, and tag an AFSCME sister who inspires you!
Whether they are having conversations in a breakroom, on a doorstep, or at a kitchen table, AFSCME women are an essential part of our organizing victories from Houston, Texas, to Belmont, Massachusetts.
I am inspired by their commitment to our union, their co-workers, and our communities. I hope you feel inspired, too, to fight a little harder and reach a little further to invite and include others in our AFSCME family.
As we celebrate Women's History Month, let's lift up the sisters who are building our union. And let's join them in making our union AFSCME Strong, in every workplace, at every bargaining table, and in every community.
In solidarity,
Elissa McBride
AFSCME Secretary-Treasurer
