Earlier this year, we informed you about a hearing on physician-assisted suicide in the Minnesota House. Due to the outpouring of opposition we saw at that hearing, we were hopeful that no more hearings would be held on the bill this year. But now, progressives have scheduled a hearing for Thursday, March 7, in the Minnesota House Public Safety Committee.
The proposed assisted suicide bill (HF1930 & SF1813) would legalize physician-assisted suicide in Minnesota. It is vitally important for legislators to hear from you. They need to know that Minnesotans do not support this deadly legislation! It's time to take action.
FIRST: Click here or on the button below to send a message to your legislator asking them to support REAL care at the end of life, NOT physician-assisted suicide.
NEXT: Please submit written testimony against physician-assisted suicide if you can. All written testimony must be submitted in PDF format without clickable links and submitted to the committee administrator, [email protected], by 12pm, Wednesday, March 6th.
All are encouraged to submit testimony. If you are a 1) medical professional, 2) a person with a disability or a disability rights advocate, 3) a person with a terminal illness or caretaker of one, or 4) a veteran concerned about suicide contagion, your voice is especially needed!
FINALLY: If you can, please attend the hearing in-person with Minnesota Family Council! Please arrive at least TWO hours early and please wear red in solidarity. Space is VERY limited.
LOCATION AND TIME: Thursday, March 7, 2024, 10:30 AM. State Office Building Room 200.
