Our military working dogs are courageous and loyal, serving alongside their handlers and other service members in some of the most dangerous places in the world.
Our troops consider their military working dogs to be fellow service members, who go through rigorous training to be ready to serve and protect — just like our brave heroes.
That’s why, ahead of K-9 Veterans Day, we’re sharing four ways for you to honor and celebrate military working dogs, their handlers and other service dogs:
1. If you’ve ever wondered just how a young puppy grows into a strong K-9 service member responsible for these tasks, we invite you to join us on a journey through their life and service.
2. Using USO Canine Volunteers to help service members cope with the challenges of military life is just one of many creative ways the USO supports our heroes. Click here to choose your favorite USO Canine Volunteer now!
3. Ahead of K-9 Veterans Day, sign the thank-you card to show your gratitude for the courageous military working dogs and their handlers who put their lives on the line for our country.
4. As a nonprofit organization, our work is made possible by the generosity of patriotic Americans like you. So please, will you make a donation today to help us continue supporting our K-9 teams and all our troops?*
Thank you for making all of our work possible,
—The USO
*Your contribution will be joined with the contributions of others and used where it is needed most to strengthen the well-being of the people serving in America’s military and their families.
The USO set a goal to obtain 30,000 signatures via email and text message through March 13, 2024.
