More than two years since war began in Ukraine, women and girls are still suffering.

Childbirth is extremely dangerous with access to basic health care extremely limited. Levels of violence against women, sexual exploitation, and abuse are soaring. Widespread blackouts, attacks on hospitals, roads, and energy infrastructure continue to disrupt essential services.

But thanks to supporters like you, neither air alarms nor frigid winter temperatures hinder UNFPA’s medical experts in providing sexual and reproductive health services to those who need it.

DELIVER LIFESAVING CARE

"Even during the harshest frost, aid to patients doesn't stop. We must assist these people, because often it's their only available consultation," said doctor Vitaliy Kucher.

"Ukrainian women have the right to access quality medical care regardless of the region and its weather conditions. Therefore, our specialized gynecological medical teams ensure continued access to preventive examinations, consultations, and treatment for women of all social groups and age," he added.

Even in the most severe weather conditions, UNFPA’s mobile gynecological teams and barrier-free access gynecological offices continue their extremely important work in 23 regions throughout the country.

Mobile gynecological teams move around the city or to rural areas where access to medical care may be limited. The specialists help detect and treat various diseases, ensuring safety and comfort for all patients.
