Touring Southwire in Coffee County

Our district is home to many businesses that influence our entire nation, and last week, I went over to Douglas to tour Southwire.

Nearly one in two new homes built in the United States contains wire from Southwire, and they produce half of the cable used to transmit and distribute electricity throughout the country.

Supporting American manufacturing and energy industries is a priority for me in Congress, and I am proud to represent the hardworking people at Southwire.

Passing a Continuing Resolution

Last week, the House passed another continuing resolution (CR) to fund the government at FY2023 levels until March 8, 2024, and March 22, 2024, by a vote of 320-99.

I supported this CR to avoid a government shutdown and will continue supporting negotiations for responsible appropriations.

Rep. Barry Loudermilk, R-Ga., led the Georgia Republican Congressional delegation in writing a letter to President Biden on Wednesday. Fox News Digital first obtained the letter, which blasts the president for his border policies, and his reversal of those from the Trump administration, saying his actions have had 'devastating consequences,' and demands immediate action."
