Hi John,

Did you get my last email?

I wanted to check you did, because we need as many people behind our campaign to stop toxic mining company Lydian in its tracks before it’s too late.

Lydian’s decision on whether it will take the Armenian government to a ‘corporate court’, suing the country for $2 billion, could be made any day now.

If Lydian get their way, it could have devastating consequences for the surrounding environment, water-system and the locals who live there.

And that’s where you come in, John.

If you haven't yet, will you help us stop Lydian by donating £3 today?
Yes, I can chip in to stop Lydian
When I went to visit the locals fighting back against Lydian’s devastating plans for an open-cast gold mine in June, I was struck by their resilience and determination.

They told me first-hand how the community had come together to successfully halt the operations of the mine by upholding a 24/7 blockade and preventing any gold from being extracted for more than a year.
But now Jersey-registered Lydian are flexing their muscles by threatening a $2 billion lawsuit against the Armenian government, unless they forcefully remove the protesters. And they are solely relying on the UK-Armenia investment deal to do this.

Now, the locals need as much help as they can get from people around the world;  from people like you and me.

We need to get the campaign into the media by co-ordinating effective and eye-catching activist stunts, and mobilise more people to get involved by reaching out to them on social media or through campaign events. But to do this, we need more funds.

Can you make a donation of whatever size to help us ramp up the campaign?
Yes, I can chip in to kick-start our campaign
Lydian are using corporate courts to hold Armenia’s people to ransom. Now is the time we need to take action and build on our past wins against corporate courts.

You might remember that in 2015, 3.5 million people across Europe signed a petition against corporate courts in trade deals like TTIP and CETA.

As a result of thousands of people coming together against toxic trade deals, TTIP was completely shelved.

In just two weeks, thousands of people have signed our petition to stop Lydian in its tracks. But we need more people like you to take action before it’s too late.

We need to stop Lydian in their tracks and stand in solidarity with local communities at the frontline of the fight against corporate power.

Will you donate to help get more people behind the campaign to stop Lydian?
Yes, I can chip in to stop Lydian
Thank you for everything you do for our campaigns.

In solidarity,

Malise Rosbech

PS. If you’ve already donated, thank you for your support. We couldn’t run hard-hitting campaigns like this without people like you.
