Should the FDA BAN harmful food additives?

The FDA is failing us, friend.
Their job is to protect Americans from harmful chemicals in food, but they’ve fallen woefully short. EWG has exposed dangerous chemicals in thousands of packaged foods, including:
* Red Dye No. 3, found in over 2,000 packaged foods, including snack cakes, candy and bacon bits. Red No. 3 has been linked to cancer and harm to children’s brains!
* Potassium bromate, found in 130 products, including breads and store-bought cookies, and linked to cancer.
* Propyl paraben, found in 52 products, including tortillas and dessert frosting, and linked to endocrine disruption and harm to the reproductive system.
That’s just the tip of the iceberg. While Europe has banned these chemicals and more from nearly all processed foods, in some cases, the FDA hasn’t even reviewed the science since the 1970s.
But EWG is changing that. In 2023, we helped successfully pass the California Food Safety Act, which banned the use of four toxic food additives. Now we are seeing similar bills introduced across the country, in states like, Illinois, Missouri, New York, South Dakota and Washington. We expect that big candy corporations will stop at nothing to protect their bottom lines and block these bills.
We need 5,000 of our top supporters from across the country to help us show candy corporations that Americans don’t want toxic chemicals in their food. Can we count on you to show your support by completing our quick survey by midnight tonight?
