Dear John,

When you speak out for Tibet, it makes a difference.

This week, Tibetan Americans, alongside other Tibet activists, advocates,
volunteers and supporters, raised their voices to the US Congress during Tibet
Lobby Day 2020. And while this year’s Lobby Day was unique in being entirely
virtual—as Congress was closed to the public to help prevent the spread of
COVID-19—we did not let that stop our work to keep the Tibetan cause on the
legislative agenda, calling on Congress to take urgently needed action and
standing up against China’s disinformation and oppressive policies in Tibet.

After we learned that Congress was going to be closed to the public, we
immediately consulted with Tibetan American Associations and Tibet supporters
across the country and reverted to conduct our Tibet Lobby Day virtually. That
meant that we had to rearrange dozens of meetings into conference calls. The
response we received to this change of plans both from Congressional offices and
Tibet supporters was amazing.

It was indeed an inspiring show of support during a difficult time for all. And
without you, John, it would not have been possible.

Here are some of the highlights of what our community of compassion achieved:

* 10,016 messages sent to our elected representatives urging them to support
Tibet.
* More than 150 participants from 25 states held 83 phone meetings with
legislators and their staff to discuss and strengthen the Tibetan cause.
* More US Senators committed to supporting the Tibetan Policy and Support Act
of 2019—and we are confident that your action had a concrete impact.

Because the people of Tibet who live under China’s control cannot speak out for
themselves, it’s absolutely vital that people like you continue to speak out
against the injustice and oppression they face. Tibetans are counting on allies like you,
John, to
raise your voice and help bring change.

Thank you for standing up for the people of Tibet. And rest assured that during
this unprecedented time, ICT’s team is ensuring that our vital work for Tibet
will forge ahead.

With thoughts of gratitude, health and peace,

Matteo and Team ICT

P.S. If you want to keep our advocacy going strong all year, donate to ICT today
and support our work to bring peace and justice to the
Tibetan people.
