You know what I believe in: Medicare for All. Economic equity. Immigration reform.

But I want to make sure you know why I believe.

I’ve met people who have lost everything -- their health, their wealth, their families -- through no fault of their own. People who ran into bad luck and didn’t have connections or checkbooks to get out of it. People who have every reason to give up and turn their backs on the world.

And these are the people who have supported this campaign. Even when society has dealt them a bad hand, these people still dare to imagine that one day, things will be better. They come together. They try again.

But Georgia Republicans are seeking to restrict the right to vote to only the most privileged among us -- we won’t let that happen. Because I believe everyone deserves a voice at the ballot box.

That’s why I’m asking for your help to fight the Republican poll tax. Will you join us and pitch in to meet our end-of-quarter goal so we can build the resources to fight this poll tax?

I’m honored to lead a campaign that gives people a sense of hope that their government will finally work for them again.

And that’s why I can’t stand idly by as people are denied their constitutional right to vote.
