Friends,

I have been working in Congress to pass paid family leave for years because no parent should ever have to choose between taking care of a sick child or loved one and earning a paycheck.

Now, with coronavirus spreading rapidly across our country, this issue is as urgent as it's ever been.

The relief package passed by the Senate on Wednesday was a good start -- but in order to protect everyone, we need to ensure every worker in this country has access paid family leave so they can take care of themselves and their community.

Workers who are sick or have been exposed to COVID-19 must be able to stay home without losing out on a paycheck or potentially losing their jobs. Otherwise, they will be forced to go to work and risk infecting others in their community.
