Today is World Wildlife Day, and what wildlife species is more iconic than the wild horses of the American West?

Jack, we can’t think of a better way to kick off today’s global celebration of wildlife than by taking action to protect America’s wild herds right here at home!

If you haven’t already, will you please urge your member of Congress to cosponsor the Wild Horse and Burro Protection Act of 2023-2024 that would ban cruel helicopter roundups, and to support adding language to the Fiscal Year 2025 Appropriations bill to redirect funds away from helicopter roundups toward humane in-the-wild fertility control?

TAKE ACTION FOR WILD HORSES

Jack, we know there ARE science-backed, humane, cost-effective alternatives to wild horse and burro conservation besides inhumane helicopter roundups. Helicopter roundups often traumatize wild horses and burros, and far too many of these innocent animals are injured or even killed as a result of this cruel practice.

Passing legislation like the Wild Horse and Burro Protection Act and adding these key provisions to the appropriations bill are critical towards our efforts to ground the helicopters once and for all. So this World Wildlife Day, will you help us send a message to Congress that we need to reform the way we manage wild horse and burro populations NOW?

TAKE ACTION FOR WILD HORSES

Thank you,
