This week’s Newsmaker Interview…
GOP House Floor Leader Rep. Jacquelin Maycumber (7th LD) joined us for this week’s newsmaker interview. Rep. Maycumber highlighted successes and disappointments of the 2024 legislative session. She also expanded on her advocacy for property tax relief and her perspective on the challenges faced by law enforcement due to anti-police policies. Finally, she outlined her commitment to empowering parents in education and shared aspirations for her run for U.S. Congress in the 5th Congressional District. Read more.

Liberal legislative leaders, in an op-ed, proclaim support for WA's parental-rights initiative, contradicting the previous stance of key liberals, including the state Democrat Party chair. It's amusing how Senator Jamie Pedersen and House Speaker Laurie Jinkins are now assuring collaboration with the state Office of the Superintendent of Public Instruction and the State Board of Education to protect students and ensure proper implementation. The question is whether this is a ploy to pave the way for Democrats to amend the initiative next year to align more closely with their views on what is deemed “correct.” Read this story and more.
