Plus: Stopping bee-killing pesticides nationwide, the EPA’s new
standards for soot pollution, and protecting communities from
dangerous LNG.

ACTION SPOTLIGHT

LAST CHANCE: EPA Poised To Release Final
Clean Car Standards

The Environmental Protection Agency is
set to issue clean vehicle standards in the coming weeks, which
will go a long way to combat deadly climate pollution.

Transportation is the largest source
of climate pollution in the U.S. and is also a major source of
other harmful pollutants that significantly impact public health,
causing deadly diseases such as asthma, heart problems, and
cancer.

If enacted, EPA’s vehicle standards would be one of the largest
climate regulations in United States history. NRDC activists have
sent tens of thousands of messages to the EPA in support of
strong standards — now is your last chance to tell the agency how
critical these lifesaving rules are for our climate and health.

Tell EPA Administrator Regan that you
support the strongest possible clean vehicle standards! ( [link removed] )

CAMPAIGN UPDATE

Want to Stop the Use of Bee-Killing
Pesticides? Look to the States

New York recently passed the
first-in-the-nation bill that would rein in the use of toxic
neonic pesticides that are killing bees. And right now in
Minnesota, there are two critical bills in the state legislature
that would restrict the use of these dangerous chemicals
statewide.

These are important steps to protect bees from dying at alarming
rates from this deluge of toxic pesticides, pushed by
agrochemical giants like Bayer.

But it’s not enough — we need a national ban on the bee-killing
uses of neonics that will put pollinators and people ahead of
industry profits.

Send a message urging the EPA to ban
bee-killing uses of neonics and save the future of our food
supply. ( [link removed] )

BIG WINS

* Biden Administration Strengthens
Strengthens Life-Saving Health Standard for Soot Pollution: Last
month, the EPA finalized a rule that will help drastically reduce
dangerous soot pollution. This important new rule will help save
lives today and improve the health of generations to come. Read

Salmon: Tribal leaders, the Biden administration, and the
governors of Oregon and Washington have formally launched a $1

Pacific Northwest. Read more about the historic agreement > ( [link removed] )
* Regulators Move to Reject Proposed LNG Storage Facility in
Albuquerque: In a major win for public health and our climate,
New Mexico is poised to reject the construction of a liquefied
natural gas (LNG) storage facility near a growing community,
tribal land, and cultural historic sites. Read more about this

STORYTELLER SPOTLIGHT

Looking for Climate Connections (and
Berries) Through Traditional Indigenous Knowledge

This moving personal essay by Dominique
Nault, who was part of a team of four students in NRDC’s
Indigenous Knowledge and Perspectives internship program last
summer, spotlights the threats to the Bear Paw Mountains, located
on the Rocky Boy’s Indian Reservation in north-central Montana,
where Nault grew up. Read more > ( [link removed] )

ACTION ROUNDUP

* Protect Critically Endangered North
Atlantic Right Whales: ( [link removed] ) A new federal strategy takes a major step toward protecting
critically endangered North Atlantic right whales and responsibly
developing offshore wind energy – and we need your help to make
sure it becomes a reality. Act now > ( [link removed] )

* Help Protect Communities from Dangerous Liquefied Natural Gas
(LNG): ( [link removed] ) LNG is a dangerous substance composed primarily of methane – a
greenhouse gas that is 80 times more potent than carbon dioxide.
And the United States is the world’s largest exporter of this
climate-destroying energy source. We must phase out these dirty
fuels. Act now > ( [link removed] )
