Congresswoman Lesko Weekly Update

It was another busy week in Congress. I would like to encourage you to share this newsletter with others. Please direct them using this link and encourage them to subscribe.

Lesko on the Floor

I had the honor of leading the pledge on the Floor of the U.S. House of Representatives. It’s always a privilege to lead the House in this important moment.

This week, I had the privilege of speaking on the House Floor to pay tribute to Dr. Peter Pingerelli. His legacy to Arizona’s education system cannot be overstated, he will be dearly missed.

Lesko in the News

Biden’s open border policies are putting the American people’s lives in danger and my constituents are scared. We must secure the border NOW!

President Trump needs to get elected to secure our border! Biden's attempt to blame Republicans for the border crisis is beyond ridiculous. The Biden-supported Senate border bill changes U.S. law to allow 5k illegals/day to cross the border without consequence. That is worse than the status quo and would tie the hands of future Presidents.

Lesko Legislation

Our constitution makes it clear, states have a right to protect themselves from invasion.

That’s why I’m introducing H.R. 1031 to help Texas and other states in their fight against the Biden Administration by declaring an invasion at our Southern Border. See more here.

I’m thrilled to announce my bill, the Advancing Nuclear Regulatory Oversight Act, passed the U.S. House of Representatives this week as a part of the Atomic Energy Advancement Act.

Through this legislation, the Nuclear Regulatory Commission will be held accountable to be more transparent and more efficient. For more information on this legislation, click here.

GET THE FACTS: Border Crisis

While the left likes to argue their open-border policies are compassionate, they are anything but. Recently, we have seen the most extreme consequences of such policies with the death of Georgia nursing student, Laken Riley, and the rape of a 14-year-old girl in Louisiana at knifepoint. Both horrific crimes were committed at the hands of illegal immigrants who should have never been here in the first place. In the case of Laken Riley, her murderer was a classic case of the consequences of President Biden’s catch-and-release policy. Her murderer was caught at the border in 2022, later released, and was arrested in New York City just last year. Aside from these violent crimes, the women and children crossing our border are not safe either. The Coalition Against Trafficking in Women estimates that 60% of Latin American children caught by the cartel crossing the border are being abused in child pornography or drug trafficking. Rather than continuing to encourage illegal immigration through the left’s “compassionate” policies, we need to stand up and protect our women and girls. It’s already too late for Laken Riley, but it does not have to be too late for the next young woman.

Casework Highlight

A constituent contacted our office to help with obtaining their passport. When submitting the application, they requested expedited processing but as the scheduled trip date grew closer, they were unable to get an update and determine if the passport would arrive on time. We contacted the State Department, found the application, and had the passport shipped the next day. The passport arrived in time for the constituent’s trip and saved their trip.
