Dear John,
You recently signed up to join the PAWS Chicago online community. As one of the newest friends of PAWS Chicago, I would like to invite you to learn more about our work today.
Our Mission

In 1997, I learned that more than 42,000 pets were being killed in Chicago each year.
Those numbers horrified me, and I knew we had to do something. Myself, my daughter Alexis, and a small group of like-minded individuals believed these sweet dogs and cats deserved so much better. To save their lives would require nothing short of our best effort. The challenge was great, but our resolve was greater.
Please watch this video to learn more about the founding of PAWS, our mission, and our commitment to building No Kill communities.
Today, PAWS Chicago is a national leader in the No Kill Community movement, and the euthanasia rate for Chicago has been reduced by 87%.
We have come a long way, but we still have work to do. Our work began with people just like you. I’m grateful to have your support and generosity to ensure we can continue to save the lives of dogs and cats who deserve our best effort.
With gratitude,
Paula Fasseas
Founder and Chair
