Driving the Week:On CNN, I set the record straight on foreign aid by reminding Americans that providing resources to Ukraine is not out of charity, but because it benefits the United States

Critical Context: I explained how Ukrainian foreign aid aligns with our national interests to support NATO, our European allies, and our own citizens. The U.S. hasn’t had a leader capable of explaining the benefits of a strong foreign policy in recent years, but that doesn’t mean our country should abandon its role as an international leader and peacemaker.
The Final Word: Congress must pass Ukrainian aid funding to keep our promise to allies and maintain global stability.

Then, I called out the failures of the Biden Administration at the Southern border

Critical Context: The crisis at our southern border is a national security disaster, with over 961,000 migrant encounters already in 2024 so far. In the key San Diego sector of the border, Chinese migrants are actually exceeding the number of Mexican nationals. The Biden administration has demonstrated that they have NO IDEA how to fix this issue.
My Final Word: America must begin to understand that border security is national security, prioritizing it when they go to the voting booth in November.

Lastly, I commented on the historic news of Sweden joining NATO after the Hungarian ratification on Monday

Critical Context: After a weeks-long parade of ego and confidence, this news of NATO expansion comes as a major setback for Vladimir Putin’s Russia. As Western allies come together and grow stronger, authoritarian states become further deterred from taking aggressive actions.
My Final Word: It is in America’s best interest to remain committed to NATO and support our allies.
