Friend,
Last week the Alabama Supreme Court ruled that embryos are considered children under the law and put the future of IVF in the state in jeopardy. All across the country, people are outraged, including Republicans. It’s unfortunate that Republicans in the Senate won’t stand up for fertility services like they said they would.
Earlier this week, Senate Republicans blocked a bill that would protect access to IVF, even after conservative Senators like Ted Cruz voiced their support for it. The stark difference between Republicans’ statements and their actions could not be clearer. They may claim to support IVF, but when push comes to shove, they won’t stand up for it when we need them the most.
This IVF ruling is heartbreaking for families in Alabama, and we’re already seeing the fallout from it across the country. We need everybody to stand up for fertility services right now — including Republican Senators who have publicly shown their support for it in the past.
The past few years have clearly shown us the dangers that far-right ideologies have on our courts and their decisions regarding our basic fundamental rights. It’s up to us to continue to fight for a judicial system that fights for the American people, and not for far-right causes. Stand with us in this fight and chip in $10 right now to help us bring sanity back to the Court.

Listen, we’ve seen how the Supreme Court’s Dobbs decision impacted reproductive care across the country, and now the courts are coming for fertility care as well. We must hold our elected officials accountable for their words and actions — if they claim to support IVF they should be voting to protect it, not voting against it.
The right to start a family and receive necessary fertility care should not be in the hands of the judicial system or the Senate. It should remain a personal conversation between individuals and their doctors.
This is unacceptable behavior from our judicial system that is supposed to be above partisan politics. And Senate Republicans voicing their support for IVF and then immediately blocking a bill that would protect it is despicable and hypocritical. Please contribute $10 now and we can work together to fight for an independent judiciary and hold these Republican Senators accountable.
